Queen's Park - New Westminster

by Dad

Activity:

When I was a child I used to get this park confused with Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver.  Queen's Park is in New Westminster.  Queen's park is an all-around park, an oasis in an urban landscape.  As a teenager I remember the Queen's Park Arena for Friday night skating, and concerts, the Arenex for professional "all star" wrestling, the baseball stadium watching the Vancouver Mounties (I'm dating myself, aren't I?).  For kids, there's the Rainbow Playground, water park, and a petting zoo open from May to September.

:

The park's pretty big, nice picnic areas, and the "Rainbow Park" is a hit with kids in the summer.
